Koby
Any designer worth their grain in salt uses Photoshop.Gimp just doesn't have the features needed for advanced work.I currently use Photoshop CS5. I had used v7 for years and years.
† ballard
I'm currently using GIMP, but I definitely agree with what Koby said. I feel that it's holding me back as an artist. I'm not saying that it's bad... It's just a bit limited on features and hasn't reached its full potential yet.I've been thinking about switching over to Photoshop, but I can't be bothered with learning a whole new program at the moment. I've never tried it because of limited features and I've always just had Photoshop since like 2003 or something.

It has similar features as Photoshop just not quite as many.I'd say it's a good program for beginners to start off with since it's free, but beyond that It would be best to use Photoshop. Here's a video I found of a guy explaining it.8o83i00uj6o
Diablo
I started from Photoshop 7.0 and right now I'm using Photoshop CS5. It's got all the advance features I need.
