† L4ugh
I've been trying to help my sister pick out a new PC and would like some opinions from the other techies out there. The two I'm looking at right now are linked below.http://tinyurl.com/3tbolbb $439.99http://tinyurl.com/3o2xdle $379.99The specs seem to be pretty close but the Dell seems to come with a 300W PSU while the Gateway has a 220W. The Gateway also comes with the Slimline case while the Dell has the full sized mini-tower.I'm also open to any other suggestions any of you may have, but I would like it to offer a Core i processor, a PCI-E x 16 slot, and priced under $500. Koby
For starters, I try to stay clear of Gateway because I've had problems with everyone of them I've ever had. Secondly from an upgrade stand-point a mini-tower isn't a good idea. I'd only go for it if I planned to use it as a media center only without the need/want of possible future upgrades. Both of them have Intel processor which I usually prefer to stay with AMD.As far as actual specs they both seem to have the same internal parts. If I had to choose between one or the other though I'd definitely go with the Dell. However you can probably find a much better PC for around the same cost elsewhere. You might even try customizing one over at the Dell website.
