Anyone know anything that is interesting like code geass, hopefully something that is 'logic war' but any recommendations will do.

Optional. Im sure you're here coz u know code geass. I wish to tell you that there is a season 3 coming out next season (or so rumors say). If you already know, then you may disregard this section.

I think Code Geass is somewhat unique, but depending on the aspects you liked most I have a couple recommendations.

The characters: Deathnote, Detective Academy Q

The action: Gundam 00

The story: s-CRY-ed

I doubt any of these will compete with CG, but it is something to do while you wait for the rumored 3rd season.

Disregard the above post!:)

I watched Death Note after CG and let me tell you its not what you need straight after CG's ending. Its a good anime but don't watch it immediately after the bright coloured brilliance of CG.

Try Break Blade or the Neon Genesis Rebuild movies.

:/

I can understand Break Blade... But Neon Genesis Rebuild? If anything is gonna shatter the "Brilliance" of CG it would be the emotional trauma the viewer receives while watching the events of that show unfold at lightning speed. Plus the shows are way too different. Code Geass makes you think while Neon Genesis makes you struggle to understand. Both require brainpower, but if you can't keep up with Lelouch's train of thought you won't be lost for the rest of the series.

I do wish I would have though of break blade first though... it is probably the best fit so far.

Ah, but in NGE no one has a fuck whats going on anyway, so it all works out nicely:) Just sit down and watch the robots beat the shit out of aliens. Also are you getting the new films mixed up with the old series? As the old series was a mind-buggering experience and half of the dialogue was completely moot anyway. Whereas the Rebuild movies are attempting to give some form of explanation, or at least they are so far, still two movies to go so that coin is still very much up in the air.

Also I'm not sure how much thinking you have to do when watching Code Geass:) Love the show and its among my top 5 anime, but I wouldn't class it as a 'thinking man's' anime.

I watched both the new and the old NG, but I am trying to look at it like someone who hasn't seen the original. There is a lot less dialogue (which is good because 90% of it is just the same thing repeated over and over in the original) but the story is just as confusing as ever. They also keep the biggest surprises in the story until the end... which means you aren't sure why the stuff is happening till you get there.

Also I wasn't trying to make CG seem like anime for Mensa members... I am just saying that there are reasons for most of the actions and events that transpire, and it is often fun to realize why the character did it.

I honestly don't know what would qualify as the thinking mans Anime, but if I did, I probably wouldn't recommend it to a Code Geass fanatic. ^^;;

I'm afraid I have to disagree with that, I've watched death note first

And I prefer CG. But ill take a look at the other recommendations, thx

I think I prefer CG coz it was longer, and death note got boring around half way when 'he' died. (I can't find how to put spoiler thing on, so I said it in a way I though wouldn't spoil it too much.

Wow, so CG was a whole 13 episodes longer. That isn't much.

Code Geass lacked a decent plot. Well the plot was great, but the way it was handled was terrible. The creators were not smart enough to come up with elaborate and well thought out plans and therefore they stuck to using the same plan over and over again (Lelouche using a video tape, sneaking up, and using his Geass) and then on the battle field constantly used dues-ex machina to further the goals because they couldn't do it the smart way.

Then there is the intelligence levels. Compared to either L or Light.. Lelouche was an idiot. Sure he was smart, but he failed at being intelligent. He was able to come up with intelligent plans but one thing that happened out of plan and he couldn't adjust to it in the moment. He required to plan before hand and hope it went according to plan. While both L and Light were intelligent enough to adapt their plans in the heat of the moment.

I find that most who didn't notice such obvious flaws often are fans of the bad but popular shows so perhaps I should recommend you to watch Pokemon, Bleach, and Yu-Gi-Oh!

well, everyone has different thoughts about something.

p.s. i do watch bleach.

Yeah, just remember it's just my opinion. Looking back over my post I hope it didn't come off as being rude as I can see how it could be.

I'll check into my watched list later and see if I can come up with some series you probably haven't seen that might be something you'd like.

I heard about the third season as well!

But I dunno if I'll watch it, since there won't be Lelouch.

What's the point of watching when awesome won't be appearing, you know?

But i dunno, maybe I'll give it shot...

People have already recommended Death Note, and it's a good recommendation. The main characters are VERY similar...yet different. I watched Death Note first before Code Geass btw.

Also, plotwise...though settingwise there's no similarity, but plotwise there definitely are many similarities. Riveting, thrilling, moral questioning...it's all there.
