It Just doesn't add up!!

Most anime now is ok, awesome, or epic. We probably agree there. But go back a few years. When most epic video game characters had their own anime. THOSE SHOWS STUNK! They were for kids and had lousy storyline. Then if you look at the good anime now and see what kind of games their making out of it, you go OH NO!! Now the games stink and THE ANIME IS AWESOME. It just doesn't add up. But just WHY?

They probably felt that there was more of a profit to be made in anime.

It's the same with anything man. Adaptions are never seen by the fans to be as good as the original. This can be said about books made into Hollywood films and even manga made into Anime along with your examples. It's rare that any sort of adaption across platforms is ever just as good or better than the original platform.

It might help if you gave a few examples. Like, Sonic was originally a kid's game. Heck, every game back then was for kids as Gaming was still considered a part of the Toys section back then. The anime that they made along with it was just part of a merchandising campaign. "BUY! BUY! BUY! GIVE US YOUR YEN! TAKE THIS SHINY SONIC DOLL THAT APPEARS ON TV!" and all that.

Now, when good TV shows come out, they do the exact opposite. "BUY! BUY! BUY! TAKE THIS AWESOME VIDEO GAME FEATURING NARUTO!"

That said, I don't really think most games suck. I actually liked the Bleach : Heat the Soul video games more than the anime itself and even the Naruto Ultimate Ninja games were cool. They even made a video game of Ruruoni Kenshin to promote the upcoming anime so like i said, it's all merchandising pal.
