converted video issue

Ok so in the past I converted most of my videos to play on xbox 360. I then got a external HDD and put the encoded videos on rather than the originals as I figured it would save me the effort of converting them again.

So anyway I just watched several of these converted videos on my laptop (rather than the 360) and the quality is rubbish. But if I watch them on my TV via my 360 the quality is fine.

So...my question is: Is there a way to revert this problem or am I going to have to redownload them?

Thanks in advance.

I feel so insecure knowing that all those animes I stashed away are completely inferior.

Trying to fix the videos will require you to re-encode them which will mean even more quality loss and most likely take longer to encode then it would take you to just re-download the files. You might be able to get something acceptable if you use avisynth. Problem is if you've never used avisynth before you'll have to add the learning curve on top of the encode times. After doing all that you still wouldn't have something as good as the original video you had before converting for 360.

You would be better off just taking Renzourin advice and re-downloading, it will be quicker in the long run. Use jdownloader and just mass re-download the files at night while you're asleep.

Have you tried using Vuze to stream to your 360 yet? I saw the option for that on the new version but it hasn't been built into the linux version yet. Don't really want to waste my time downloading it for win if it doesn't work yet.

Vuze is the way to go for bittorrent though.

it converts them and then you stream them from the vuze file in your computer.

the only problem is every video vuze converts for 360 is put into ONE folder. so everytime you want to watch your video you have to sift through hundreds (well for me anyway) of episodes. Also, it often dosen't carry over the eps individual name, rather it just gives them all the same title E.g if I download black lagoon all twelve eps will be called something like black lagoon 1-12 or whatever the torrent title was.

still this can all be resolved by simply copying the videos to your computers video folder but then if your sloppy like me you end up having three copies of everything and forgetting whats where and what you hav and have not deleted.

although I agree, vuze is the torrent future. More people simply need to use it.
