Is the meaning changed in the process of Japanese Dub to English Dub?

Does Eng Dub change the meaning of original Vocal?...

In most anime, no it doesn't. The dub-haters say it does, though, but in reality, when they adapt the original script, everything still means the same thing, even though it is often worded differently. That is just to make it make more sense to the english speaking audience. They also change some of the lyrics for songs like in Rumbling Hearts to make it more understandable to english speakers, due to the gap between cultures. Any changes are for the better though, when it is localized and dubbed into english.

some I like dubbed simply because some of the jap character voices just suck can't stand them but if I start watching one not dubbed I wouldn't change to dubbed cause I think it is better but generaly with anime I go the dubbed save the reading for movies cause really awhos to say the subs are right

DUB is Dub and sub is sub does it really matter how you watch it and wat the y voice sound like

This makes no semse amd yjos discussion is not a sub vs dub type thing. It is only asking if the english dub means the same thing as the sub, which is true, except for one called Ghost Stories, but even that still follows the story properly.

I find that with Dubs im able to focus more on the animation and enjoy the art more. With good animes the Dub has the same meaning as te Sub, maybe not the same words. They try and give the best approximation of the Sub and match the mouth movements. How many of you remember watching an anime that was Sub and remember the characters actually speaking english?

actually' date=' in most of the anime these days, they retain the original japanese BG music.[/quote']

Yeah, noticed it too. Though there are some background music done better in dub, cuz i know i liked Mew Mew Power dub music when i've seen it long time ago, REALLY long! ^_^ But still sticking to retaining the original.

The only anime dub not released by 4kids I know of that actually changed the story around drastically was actually a hentai, Hyakka something or other, instead of looking for pages from a book, they were looking for various junk, chalk, globe etc and all the serious stuff was replaced by the cheesiest sexual innuendos possible lol
