Q: About iPhone 3Gs Stuffs

Hello everyone so, I've been back here in Saudi Arabia with my parents to spend time with them during my summer break and they gave me an iPhone 3Gs. So I have a few questions:

1.) How do I put music and videos in it? Do I really need to use iTunes?

2.) How can I put games such as emulators and etc. from what I've heard they call it unofficial apps or something like that.

and finally:

3.) What other stuffs can I do with it?

I'm not an expert with Iphones but I have jailbroken quite a few Ipod Touches now and am pretty familiar with using Cydia to modify things within the Itouch. By your definition of "Unofficial Apps" I'm assuming you mean to ask how to jailbreak it to install emulators/misc apps on it.

I use Green Poison for mostly (Redsnow/LimeRain/Etc are alright as well but they basically re-install a certain version of iOS onto the Iphone/Itouch with Cydia on it[You also will need to hunt down an iOS install file prior to 4.0 I believe if you use those kinds], Green Poison won't reformat your Iphone/Itouch, just installs Cydia on top of whatever's already on there and it's compatible with 4.0+ iOS's).

Sounds like you want jail break. Otherwise, you need to use iTunes.

either way itunes is esential you have to have it, and the best way have full potential is to jailbreak it, that way u get themes and everithing if, u tell me on what firmware ur on i might be able to help you on that. XD

I have a jailbroken iphone 4, and I love so many more options with it. But I did it only to get bitesms, sbsetting, wifi sync and the ablity to change the desing.

AVplayer is too rich in terms of video, you stille have to use itunes but you can play all most any video formats, on your phone and you dont have to converte them first

When you jailbreak your iphone, pleas do not steal it is tiresome for everyone. I write games and applications for iphone and it is hard to see your work being copied when you have use a lot of time and energi on it. so help us instead to making better games / programs, by providing that small fee amounts ..
