luffy's another nakama?

i was wondering where is luffy's other nakama while he was still a kid. i mean, the one with ace and luffy from a royal family-kind sort of:doubt:. i forgot his name. is he really die?

His name was Sabo and no he ran away so his family wouldn't find him Ace knew he was still alive but to ensure he got away he made Luffy think he died.

I think that a plot line has already kind of been set for Sabo to reappear later, because he seems like more than just a throwaway character

Sabo is probably alive. It seems Luffy's father Dragon saves him. At least that's what it seems to be after watching the episode 504.

sabo is alive...dadan companion just saw that his boat was blown apart but he didn't see sabo died or anyone didn't find his dead body...so i think he somehow alive....

I think Sabo's character has too much potential for future dramatic scenes to throw him out. Although in my opinion it would be a reach to not have him die, One Piece is known to do these sort of things to it wouldn't be too much trouble. Personally, I would love Sabo to come back just to see how the others react.

In response to a previous post, I didn't think about Dragon rescuing Sabo. I probably just missed obvious hints, then.

I don't think it'd be a far cry for him to still be alive. I'd love to see him as a revolutionary, or maybe even a double-agent with the marines or another pirate crew.

A better question though is where he was when Ace was set to be executed? This is all providing he is alive..

I can imagine that Sabo will turn up in the new world. I found this on the one piece wiki. This image doesn't show what will become. But if I know one piece ideas like this will surely get used.

No evidence that Sabo is alive, but that last scene provides the option to bring him back.

For some reason, I think that Sabo is alive... simply because his remains are nowhere to find... even the marines didn't find anything except from the remains of the boat he sailed in.. so yeah, he is alive somewhere...
