Ipod Touch Audio Problems?

<< Kay. So; My Ipod Took a fall with my headphones attached to it like any regular mp3 player does when it falls from your shirt pocket to the cement floor. I'm shocked to find out that my Ipod still works (Probably only because I put down $20 to get a hard plastic case for it, which has spared my precious baby time and time again from scratches and drops on its own).

Though much to my dismay, I seem to have problems hearing out of the left side of any of my earbuds/headsets. I tried it with my friend's ear buds as well; notta. So we deduced it had to be my ipod and not any of our headphones. But if I wiggle the jack (on any of them; I haven't tried the auxilliary jack for my brother's car) - and with a bit of "force" (a little bit) I can magically get the audio for the left channel(?) to work again.

I'm no electronics genius but my issue lies somewhere within the itouch; I'm assuming the fall damage with the headset's jack in bent the wrong way and pushed a prong or something in too far...

I'm bummed and I'm not really sure what to do to fix it. Does anyone here on the forums have any experience with this? Or similiar issues with like, a Apple Brand MP3 Player? I'm kind of only worried I'm stuck with this because I bought it secondhand in perfect condition and now it's kinda... broken-ish. I don't have a warranty or anything on it but I was hoping I could take it some place and hopefully get it fixed.

EDIT: Right Now I'm just googling and surfing the Apple Forums for my issue =[ I hope there's a way to save it.

My desktop pc is the same way, and no I didn't drop it, lol. If I use headphones I gotta twist and wiggle till it works in both speakers otherwise only the right one works. I don't know what actually is the cause of it though, but I get it to work so I never really looked into it.

Ah I see; I found a bunch of threads with similar situations to mine with iTouches my friend and I were completely right about it being a Hardware issue as compared to our Earbuds/Headphones.

And Since I have No Warranty, I get to pay Out of Warranty Price: $149... Which is... +$49 more than I paid for the Ipod Touch Initially. Though I don't know. Maybe I am misinformed/misled myself.

I've had that same problem with a friend of mine's computer and his headphones jack. I tried about 3 different earphones to humor him but in the end I told him he it was the jack and not the earphones like he thought. I say your best bet is to get apple to fix it. Just curious, but what gen is your ipod?

Mine is actually a 16gb 2nd Gen. I paid about $100 for it and got it from a friend so it has no Warranty. I was also reading about how they return you a new refurbished one... and there is a possibility they can give you a "newer model" as in I'd probably blow chunks if I were handed back a fourth gen.

A Apple Discussion Forum regular pointed me towards this company.

Of course I would assume any none-large corporate conglomerate is surely a scam or fake but oddly enough the site/company seems pretty legitimate, other than them not working weekends.

I would fix it myself, but I'm afraid I'll break it more than I fix it.
