apr118
Ok so here it is, today I updated my Xbox 360. I inserted my Halo: Reach disc as usual to enjoy because after all, prelim week just ended. But then... the FRUSTRATING THING happened... "Disc Cannot be READ"... Is it just me or is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone knows what the problem is? My Xbox 360 is 4months old and its the white one. I've been playing Halo Reach for like 2 weeks and then it stopped working as soon as I updated by 360 TODAY!Equipment Status:Disc = CLEAN VERY VERY CLEAN no cracks etcConsole = 4-5months old the White one NTSC 60GB*ONLY Halo: Reach is UNREADABLE. The other games works well including FFXIII etc...I tried installing the game in my HD but still... no use... this is indeed a sad day... and to think that I'm on my way to becoming a Captain and finishing the legendary mode in solo...Help please? or Advices? or maybe Solutions? Thanks...
BushidoSkeleton
I just tried it then after the update and it worked fine, maybe something is wrong with the optical drive or it could be the disc. I know you said the disc is very clean but personally I would take it to a disc cleaning place to be sure.Oh also try installing the game off the disc if you haven't already. † Irish
Oh also try installing the game off the disc if you haven't already.if the game doesnt read its impossible to do that... now I had an issue like that a while back, and the thing is you might have to clear the Cache on your system....go to your system settings, go to memory and press y.... if you need me to talk you thru it my gamertag is in my Sig.... hope this helps... Kasoivc
Huh, thought I replied earlier yesterday when I was in class. Anyways, yeah try Irish's idea first. Clearing your system's cache deletes all "patches/updates" for every game so the next time you insert something like Borderlands or some other old game - you'll need to reupdate/repatch it to play it online. As per Hybrid's theory; how recent is your xbox? Is it "new" as in completely brand new? Or new as in refurbished? Theres' a million and plus units out there that are white, but there's about three-five different models (Fyi. There are a variety of power supplies that make the regular x360 different from one another, it has to do with the power supply & what "chip" is inside it. Afaik the newer chips are less likely to RROD on you.) If it's a refurbished x360, then it could be possible that its the optical drive; if not then I highly doubt that this could be the issue. † Irish
Yeah, you might need a higher watt power supply, depending on your model. My friends box went nuts and i gave him the 203Watt supply and he was fine after that... but try the cache then try the power supply. Look at your power supply and look for where it tells you what Watt it is... For example My old one said 203W...... just try those 2 things... and then get back to me... Cause obviously you can't download the game off the disc if you cant read the disc...

Inari
Hi, same thing happoened to me.I can say for sure that is not a disc issue. I have a very clean disc. BTW, is a backup game.I can say for sure that is caused by a system update. I created an xbox live account, and updated every game when it asked for it, but that was totally fine. The problem came when I updated the dashboard, which by the way, now supports kinect, but also gave me this problem. I cant play Halo Reach, nor CoD: Black Ops. I always get the same error: "This disc cannot be read".I already tried clearing system cache... didn't work.Any1 knows what to do to fix this?
