Hi everyone I'm a new member in Kametsu and hope to enjoy my stay here.

I found out about Kametsu through AB and loving the archive-level encodes that come out this place.

I hope to learn about the community and content that comes out this site and also to contribute as much as I can.

You can find my MAL at: https://myanimelist.net/animelist/Solitary_Flower

I'm currently an Aerospace Engineer student at the University of Tennessee.

Hope to see anyone of you guys in the forums! :)

Welcome to Kametsu. Hope you enjoy your stay and glad you found your way here.

Unfortunately animeBytes seems intent on destroying their tracker and preventing archive-worthy material from being on their tracker. Several months ago they added rules that prevent raw groups from uploading their encodes as they now only allow one raw and only if subtitles don't exist. Which means someone can slap some shitty subs on a shitty raw and suddenly a decent encode is trumped and thus removed or just never allowed to be uploaded in the first place. At one time aB was a great site to obtain raws that were dead on the public trackers they were originally uploaded to. Sadly that is no longer the case.

Even more saddening is their recent enforcement of first-come-first-serve mentality that whoever manages to upload a release using a certain video source then owns that video source slot. This means terrible muxes where FLAC is replaced with low-grade audio now trumps both the raw and prevents a decent release from existing with that video encode. It's pretty sad that they've developed such a mentality that whatever is first is best rather than allowing something better to come along. I fear this means you'll be seeing less quality release groups utilizing aB for their work, but with the current stance of the staff there, if aB did die out, nothing would be missed anymore as better things can only be found elsewhere now as they're no longer allowed to exist on their tracker.

There's nothing we can do about it though, except hope they'll see the error in this line of thinking and allow change. So that's what we'll do: hope they'll once again return to being an archive tracker rather than a first-come-stays.
