Dan Den Posted August 7, 2017 Report Share Posted August 7, 2017 Hi, I was looking to see if someone could help me out with the installation of the ASUS Wirless-AC5300 Tri-band Gigabit Router, I get the gist of what I am supposed to do but I do not want to end up screwing things up. What I have: RT-AC5300 Wirless-AC500 Tri-band Gigabit Router and all the components that come with it. And my old modem router that was give to me by my isp provider. Sorry for the late reply. Looking at that router, it doesn't have an input for ADSL/VDSL (one of which I'm assuming you have). So you would have to run an ethernet cable from your current modem to this and plug it in WAN port (Page 12 from here: https://www.asus.com/Networking/RT-AC5300/HelpDesk_Manual/). Then you will probably want to jump to page 89 of that same document and set it up in Access Point mode, all going well, you should have internet access through the wifi name you have on the new router after a reboot.
