infinikitten Posted May 26, 2017 Report Share Posted May 26, 2017 I would recommend reading the manga for the first few arcs; unless you're a slow reader, it'll be much quicker for you to catch up to wherever your friend is in the series by reading everything prior to that. Then you can jump into the anime and watch alongside your buddy who suggested you get into Fairy Tail to begin with. It's a matter of taste of course - I tried to watch FT a while back and it couldn't hold my attention, but it's difficult for anime with hundreds of episodes to hook me anyway. Mostly because, as I said above, it's usually faster to read it and you get to skip any drawn-out scenes (you know the type - where characters are just standing around making dramatic faces and there are a bunch of close-ups, repeats of info you already know, etc). Although i watch a lot of episodes a day and he watches like 3 a day so i think i will be able to catch up with him easily.
