If you watch the 2nd season, then the 5 episode ova series you will discover what really is going on. Unfortunately for dub only watchers, only the first season was dubbed. The thing is you don't understand anything by just seeing the first season. Everything you think you know from it gets twisted around as the truth is revealed in the 2nd season and further explored in the OVA.

I remember watching that! The first time i saw it i was watching the wrong one and i was so confused but my friends helped me but i'm still some what lost and its hard to explain. But every time the new world starts over they have to try and stop some one from dieing. =\

That series is spectacular. You'll figure out what's going on if you watch through the second season -- I actually prefer the first, but the second is worth watching to bring everything to some conclusion.

And the first episode of Higurashi began in the best way ever.

I love that series because it plays with you're head. My favorite moment watching that anime was wondering if/why mion walked around with a shoulder holstered gun in public, why no one called her out on it, and why she never used it.
