Dervell Posted February 28, 2015 Report Share Posted February 28, 2015 BY RACHEL HAASAdventure Time, the wildly popular Cartoon Networkshow created by Pendleton Ward, is making its biggest journey yet—to the big screen.Deadline revealed that Warner Bros. is developing a full-length animated feature based on the Adventure Time series, which follows the adventures of Finn the human and his best friend Jake the dog who embark on various quests in order to protect their home, the mystical Land of Ooo, such as battling characters like the Lich, or doing favors for Princess Bubblegum. What time is it?The film will be produced by Chris McKay and Roy Lee. McKay was an executive producer on The Lego Movie and was recently tapped to direct The Lego Batman Movie at Warner Bros. He is also the man behind Adult Swim's Robot Chicken. Lee was a producer on The Lego Movie and will also work produce The Lego Batman Movie.Cartoon Networks Studios, as well as series creator Pendleton Ward, will also be involved with the project, with Ward helping to write and produce the Adventure Time film.Currently, Adventure Time is in its sixth season with a seventh coming soon. IGN named the show one of the top 25 animated programs for adults, while the Emmy-winning series has inspired everything from video games to Dr. Martens boots. Rachel is a freelance writer for IGN.
