RikuoAmero
So, I went and swapped my old tower for something a little unorthodox. My old tower is the Antec DF-85, it's served me well for the past couple of years, but I wanted a change. The new case is the Aerocool Strike-X. It's based on open test benches. Getting everything in proved to be a bit of a challenge. When I was taking out the motherboard from the old tower, a screw in the bottom right hand corner had gotten stuck with it's riser. The riser came out of the tower, and so I had to borrow a set of pliers from a friend to hold the riser, while I unscrewed the screw. All of this was done without an anti-static wrist strap by the way. I'm amazed the board wasn't short-circuited. I had to get extension cables for CPU and motherboard, since what I had were just too short by a few centimetres. I wasn't sure whether the extension I got for the CPU would work, since at one end it was 8-pin (for the CPU power socket), but the other end (for the PSU) terminated into two sets of 4pins. I couldn't plug either of them since the clip on their head was in the way. I had to snip the clip off with scissors then plugged in both sets. It worked. My CPU is getting all the power it needs. So here you go lads. The album is on Facebook.https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10204224503877793.1073741829.1383318742&type=1&l=ad429926b7 At idle, my CPU is at 28/29 degrees C, and mobo is at 30. The top fan is spinning at 549RPM. This is simply fantastic, because the old case was a bit louder, even when I had all my fans on as slow as possible. At the moment, I only have the blu-ray drive and my boot SSD in, no other hard drives. Edited June 25, 2014 by RikuoAmero
