how geek culture effect on us?

well it's seems like every year the general culture, including "geek-culture" (anime, scifi- fantasy-horror tv/movies/books/etc), becomes more with violente, vulgar and raunchy.

do you think it has any effect on us? and if so, good effect or bad?do pepole who expose to content with cruelity and violence become more agressive people? or the opposite, it cause to reaction, and make people recoil from harm another people? (and so on with sexual content..)  

don't take me wrong, i enjoy watch anime, horror movies/tv, etc. but i start thinking about how it's effects us, the viewer.

also, please mention if you boys or girls, (cause i want to see if the gender has any connection to attitude in this subject)

i think you're asking if what people watch/play affects their personality/actions in a bad way?

 

id say no,its ridiculous

if anything,it helps keep people from doing such bad things

example would be,of course,GTA.

playing such games makes you get rid of stress and anger

in a way that isnt harmful to others.

 

now,do people often joke on how cool itd be to do irl?

yes,but thats what they are.just jokes.

 

as with anything though,there are those exceptions who will do such acts in the real world

but they tend to have serious mental or personality issues.

 

all in all,its being able to experience these thoughts/acts

in a movie,tv show,or game,that takes away the need of trying it in the real world
