I'm using IE 10. I don't want to ugrade to IE 11 because I would have to upgrade to windows 8.1, if I understand correctly.

So I can't play youtube videos (it's either black or green screen). The youtube buttons are also unclickable.

I use it primarily to download the youtibe video via IDM.

Anyone have similar problem?

Sounds more like conflicting plugins, not IEs fault.

Make sure you updated to the latest Flash Player by visiting Adobes site and make sure IDM is the latest as well. Alot of times its due to minor changes due to exploits that cause these issues to arise and cause conflicts. As well double check your AntiVirus settings.

Plus, you can download IE11 for Windows 7, unless your a Windows 8 user sad to say yeah you have to upgrade legitly. There are unlegit installers out on the web that will force install it on windows 8.0, but with that being said people have had issues afterwards.

Firefox

Firefox still green boxes sometimes, I've used it before. It's the same with Seamonkey.

I'd personally go with Chrome if you want to watch/download Youtube videos... but if you absolutely must use Internet Explorer, can I ask why you don't want to also upgrade to Windows 8.1?

Thanks everyone.

I had a lot of problems with security update on windows 8 that went to "automatic repair" or it won't boot to windows (just blue screen) every time I restart. So I had to reinstall it without using any updates from windows. So far so good. And my cpu runs faster and smoother now without the updates and adware from HP.

I primarily use chrome for browsing but I can't use my idm to download youtube videos from there.

Thanks. My flash player is the latest. I changes the settings but still no good. I'm using Avast antivirus. How does that connect with the plugins in IE? Thx

Some antivirus will stop a script from running on web pages, which most youtube downloaders utilize a script to get the link of the video source. Which this could be the cause the Antivirus stops it dead in its tracks, causing the flash player to stop from grabbing the video.
