Was pretty good but I think the song didn't blend well with the chosen anime.

I thought it was good and contrary to what Death said I think the song actually worked for it

yeah, I thought some parts worked well. But in hindsight I would have picked a song with a more prominent....beat? Not sure if that is the best term to describe it (my family are all musical but I am the black sheep in that regards). 

 

the beginning is a definite weak spot:(

That was pretty damned good if you ask me! All the anime flowed really well, and I thought it matched the song pretty well too.
I don't know what to say really, it's better then most other AMVs I've seen. Good job!

I agree that the beginning was a bit off. Maybe if you looked at it more as a story? Like if you picked scenes that set up a clear beginning, middle, and end. Use the first verse to set up characters? -- in film we'd call it an establishing shot, not really sure on the lingo for AMVs. Overall though it's very good. After the intro (that you mentioned) it flows really well. Good job!

thanks for the compliments guys and gentle critiquing. Will definitely try making another one in the future. 

 

What program is the best? I use sony vegas 12 but was wary of the videos fx's as most of them, i felt, only exacerbated the amateurish feel.
