HDD Recovery

In think that process is destructive so you'll lose all of your data on the D: partition. So make sure you back everything up on D:. Also you will probably have to use parted magic and combine the partitions that way. Parted magic is a live Linux cd that specializes in HD recovery and partitions editor. I've used it plenty of times, if you need help using it let me know.

a GParted or Parted Magic live disc won't necessarily destroy the data if you are leaving the C drive intact and erasing the D drive. Simply use Gparted to extend the C to the deleted Ds now empty space. Of course whatever is on the D drive will need to be backed up. Still, it is a good idea to backup your C drive before extending it.
