Myrodis19
So i am now using my desktop, the laptop i had before went up and it had a blu ray player in it. Now it seems that all the anime i want is only being released in a bluray/dvd combo, yet it seems to be a blu ray one i think. So my question is why is this and how can i play blu ray if my current computer does not have the player?
JohnFlower
lemme see if i understand you.you're not quite sure if the optical disk drive in your desktop is blu-ray compatible or not? to check, you will need to search the model of the drive. to do that, you can either right click on any disk in Computer, then select the hardware tab (the optical disk drive will be a "DVD/CD-ROM drives"). simply google the name, and it should tell you the specifications of the drive.the second way would be to open Computer Management, and select Device Manager. again, it will be under "DVD/CD-ROM Drives", google the name that it gives you.if i completely misunderstood and you are wanting a media player that plays blu-ray/dvd's, then i suggest TotalMedia Theatre 5. The anime i download dual audio is blu ray and when i play on Smplayer its all pixilated and stuff at points.
JohnFlower
oh, you want a media player that plays x264 encoded anime, or are you wanting to play a ripped blu-ray (from the likes of ADC or other sites)? in either case, i suggest MPC-HC with the latest cccp beta available here along with madvr, which can be found here. i'm pretty sure there is a guide somewhere on this forum which will tell you how to set it up, so i wont go into detail here. Marc05
I was asking both the questions kind of so you got them right. The anime i download dual audio is blu ray and when i play on Smplayer its all pixilated and stuff at points. The reason that it's "pixilated at points" is because the player/your computer could not keep up with rendering the video at a fast enough rate. This results in frequent dropped frames and such which causes those artifacts (pixilated stuff) to appear. Using a better codec along with a good player as suggested before should help.
