After all that hubbub about paysites, it seems like it was mostly paysites that kept going and went on to make stuff for TS3--Rose and Peggy are still around, but a lot of the TS2 artists I used to follow never made the jump. And yeah, I do recall a few artists saying it was because they didn't like the way the new game looked, that all the Sims looked like puddings and were ugly. Just like all the people who played TS1 refused to move to TS2 for similar reasons--they each have their merits, so it is pretty annoying when they say they just don't like the "look" of the game, as if they can't fix it. TS3 is less cartoony, which I guess is the bane of people who just want entire neighbourhoods of beautiful Sims, haha.

I try to read legacies but a lot of them just seem to fall off in the middle--which is understandable since the game is notoriously unstable, lul. Photo threads seem to be the place to go for me.

Exactly. I mean I've seen a lot of mods available that adjust the sliders so people can make really beautiful Sims (have one that can give your Sims elf ears). When I first start out making a Sim, the faces are a little too pudgy but it's more "realistic" I think. I've actually found the Sims in the neighborhoods that come with the game (and randomly spawned) look a lot better than the random Sims in Sims 2. At first I did have to get used to the new faces but while all my Sims aren't beautiful, I'm not having random Sims with noses/mouths/etc. that take up their entire face(lol). Though even those that had really big noses, I liked seeing what the kids would look like pairing the person with someone that had a normal sized nose/lips/etc. I like that Sims 3 is more realistic I guess you could say throughout the worlds. I think some people just don't like to change once they've gotten used to something. It did take me a while to get hooked into Sims 3, ambitions was probably when I started playing Sims 3 more and Late Night got me hooked.

Yeah, I've read a few legacies that end up quitting from bugs in the game but usually I'll wait to read them until there's multiple generations (I think it's usually the ghosts that end up being the issue in the ones I've read). Recently started reading Rainbow legacies. A few of them did end after a few generations but there's so many out there, I would just go to the next one and check back on the other ones to see if the legacy makers started a new neighborhood or something. I also enjoy photo threads. I enjoy seeing the Sims other people make and reading the little stories they give their Sims.

Haha, yeah, it definitely has a more realistic look to it. I don't really miss the more gaunt features of TS2, but I do occasionally miss how easy it was to make a sharper featured character, even if you don't exactly find those kinds of people in real life. Having the slider multiplier from Awesome has been a godsend for me, though.

And there's definitely fewer unabashedly hideous Sims running around in my neighbourhoods. One of the NRaas mods has an immigration option and it can roll random Sims or breed the ones in your Sim bin for random Sims. I have a few self Sims floating in the bin, so my game was breeding these Sims together (pretty sure it was genderbending the binned Sims, but whatever) and plopping them in my game--damned if there weren't some pretty Sims, haha. I haven't seen one with absolutely ridiculous features yet, which definitely was more common in TS2--features that looked good on men didn't always transfer well to females or vice versa. You'd get noses way too high up on the face or lips unrealistically thin--if they're there at all. It's not as much of a problem with TS3.

I'm not sure what my favourite expansion is yet or what keeps me going back aside from my god complex, but I really do like Showtime, maligned as it is. I'm hoping Supernatural will be half as fun as it sounds, but I'm not holding my breath, haha.

I've seen a couple rainbow legacies--they're cute! I think my favourite type of legacy is the Uglacy, especially when they go ahead and let their readers submit horrible Sims for the dating pool. They're horrible and all that, but they're definitely more interesting than the ones that just try to make beautiful Sims. Somehow they end up all looking the same after a while.

Who has the new Supernatural expansion? I know Rei got hers several days ago--mine showed up today. Updated my mods, patched my game, and started playing for a bit.

I made a fairy dude and moved him into my current household to court one of my newly aged young adult Sims. It's really cute, the little fairy houses you can buy for them. Kind of sad there was only two options, but it's not like I spend a lot of time looking at it. I didn't do much with any of other supernatural beings, but it's pretty cool you can create them from CAS and not have to become one like you normally had to do in any of the Sims games.

The new female hairs are super duper cute--the short hairs are ADORBS.

Male hairs are...

Well, the less said on that, the better.

Clothes are okay. Lot of jacket options for the males, which is okay, I guess.

Werewolf facial and body hair options are...

Yeah.

Pretty cool expansion from what I've seen so far, though.

The witches are what I am working with now. I did fairies. I love the option of creating a supernatural instead of waiting to be turned into one.

I'm going to create a witch after my fairy guy dies. I was really amused by the Twilight reference--confessing to the other Sim that you watch them while they sleep. Oh my god. I tried it to see what it would do and the other Sim got freaked out and yelled at the confessor. Lulz were had.

Need to do breeding experiments with the supernaturals. I'm pretty sure you can't have any hybrids, but it's not like I played extensively or anything.

Picked it up the day it came out but haven't had time to play due to school. Finally got it installed a few days ago (had to reinstall all my sims games after upgrading my hard drive) but still need to update my mods. Really hoping I'll have some free time this weekend.

Awesome and most Nraas mods are updated for the patch and expansion. I use Error Trap, Master Controller + Progression addon, Overwatch, Register, Story Progression + Expanded + Extra + the personality addons, and Traveler. Haven't had any world ending crashes, but I did forget to tune Awesome to do thirty minute autosaves and got nervous when I saw I had played for an hour and the game hadn't saved.

Have you noticed the new game update they added yesterday? The new update gave us the blueprints and the ability to swim in lakes, rivers, and oceans. It gave some other things but its those two main ones that they told we'd get soon that we actually got. I got to try it out yesterday and swam really far into an ocean. The blueprint took me longer to realize but you'll notice a new tool thing in the build mode. It's pretty cool.

That online dating thing looks pretty cool.
