Anime tattoo

So I have tattoos. Not any where you can see the tattoo. They're very easy to hide, and because of my job I have to hide them. But I still get them constantly. My interpretation on any tattoo I get is that it has to be something about me: either about my past, or something I like; basically something that defines and describes me; basically the tattoos I get tell a story about me (and are sometimes about my history).

So I wanted to get an anime tattoo. Something that shows that I like anime, and that anime is a big part of my life (which it is). But I don't want it to be nerdy. Something that can be as classy and subtle and interesting as possible. I won't, for example, get an anime character tattoo'd on me. That wouldn't suit me. I also don't want to get something that is about one anime show but in general about anime. I was thinking of getting the typical anime eye, but I thought I'd ask on here for any suggestions. It would really help to bounce some ideas off you guys.

Now I know not everyone is into tattoos. That's fine. Please keep those opinions to yourself. They aren't helpful. I obviously don't want this thread to turn into a breeding ground for trolls.

That's a tough one. To find something that describes anime in general. The thing is that people that do this get one of there favorite anime. Is there a generic character or symbol that can be used? The anime eye could be good but it might be over used by a lot of people. Myself I would go with my most favorite anime. Keep in mind you are going to have to explain what it is to your children and your grandchildren when you get older.

How about anime written in japanese ?? would look sober but maybe not very flamboyant for your taste ??

I can't think of a way to picture a tattoo like that. Unless you take a bunch of symbols from different animes and kinda mold them together. But people can't really get that unless you maybe write anime under it in funky text. But even then that doesn't say anime in general you are just taking things from select anime.
