Exactly what direction is "high" or "up"? Seems to me that "up" is any direction perpendicular to the surface of the Earth at the point where someone's standing which when taken as a vector and applied to the point that's straight on the other side of the Earth's surface (as in if you drew a straight line between the point where the person's standing to the center of the earth then continued it out your line would hit the point on the Earth's surface that I'm talking about now) would point toward the center of the earth as being "up"??????

For that matter, if you don't like relative directions (left, right, up, down...). What exactly is North? People act like the cardinal directions are like a 2D flat cross placed perpendicular to the exact point on the Earth's surface that they're at. But if you take "North" to be like that, in order to go North you'd eventually have to start flying... If you say those directions are curved 3D vectors then the problem of North and South is solved, but how do you know when you've hit East and start going West (when you reach the North pole, you immediately go South when you head in any direction and the same for the South pole)?

Up is anything that is above where you are at that present time.

Similarly, north is where the magnetic north pole is. If you move away from it, you go south. If you get closer, you move north. However, east and west movements wouldnt matter since you would still maintain the same vertical height(for lack of a better word)
