Online Games: What makes them great? What do you want to see?

Hey guys, wooden instrument here with a topic requesting your input/opinions.

I'm very fond of online games. I've been playing them since 2000~ and to this day there's no other game I can pump as much time into as an MMO.

However, lately we seem to have a lack thereof. Sure, there's plenty of MMOs, but they never try to be innovative! Rather they feel more of a task than a hobby.

So my questions are (You can reply however you like to this threads topic, these are just general questions):

What makes a great online game?

What do you want to see in an online game?

If you play an MMO, what do you/don't you like about it?

When it comes to Online games, all I prefer is a vast openness and freedom to roam. That's what I enjoy about WoW, it gives you so many places to explore, and for the most part each area has variety to it.

Really the thing that makes a MMO good is really two things: a way to make people do the same thing over and over without getting bored, and a large player base. This is why games like WoW are so successful, because its entertaining even if are really just doing the same junk every time, and its got a whole lot of people. I normally play MMOs because at first they are fun, then I stay because I can hang out and play with other people who I met. So unless you join clans/guilds/whatever, its not fun after a bit.

Well, every game is more interesting when u have people to play with. And in online games, there is no limit to players. I occasionally play online games coz I don't wanna get addicted to it. But Yeah, online games are more fun coz u have better competition.
