My ISP (Eircom) is Pure Evil

Hey Kametsu, long time no see ^^

I've been off the intertubez for about a week thanks to the evilness that is Eircom. Here's the details: The internet bill is in my room-mate's name, but we split the bill. Well, last week, she got her latest bill and she was overcharged. Her bank refused the payment and Eircom then cut off her service just like that. She rang up and complained. First, she tells me she got a nice woman who actually tried to help her out, but eventually admitted she didn't have the authority to do anything about it (but only said this after wasting twelve minutes of my room-mate's life), so roommie demanded to speak to a supervisor. She got a man, who couldn't have been more unhelpful. The kindest thing roommie can recall him saying was "Well, its not my problem you don't have service". And here's the evilness...even though roommie said she'd been overcharged, he had the balls to say she had to pay a €140 reconnection fee. Roommie refused (rightly) and so we were netless for a week. Eventually, I went into withdrawal symptoms and paid the fee myself. We would have gone to another ISP, but the apartment complex is only wired for Eircom. The only other option would have been the USB modem sticks, and they're...how shall I say it?...Craptacular.

So...anyone have any advice about this? Or similar ISP hell stories to share?

Lol sorry but if it was me, I would not taken that shit from them. ISPs are generally like that, you just have to be smart and threaten them in a non abusive way. Pretty much things like that happen over in Australia, I heard many horror stories about ISPs over here. The most worst thing that happen to me was having to repay the reconnection fee, but it was my fault I didn't pay the bills for like 3 months, was on vacation and I didn't pay them in advance or warn them.
