Like the control scheme wish they would remake the original 3 with these controls. but besides that I just love the story behind it. Kasoivc Posted December 8, 2011 Report Share Posted December 8, 2011 HD Collection is great, gives me an excuse not to bust out the old gen copies and risk scratching them on outdated consoles. I've not actually gotten to playing MGS4 and I'm not so sure if I want to play MGS: Rising when it comes out. I'm not particularly fond of MGS going towards a more "actiony" approach at drawing in players because I enjoy the challenge of tranqing and choke holding people at gun point. I suppose it could take place somewhere between the other games. I didn't finish MGS4, but I think he dies (don't confirm it! Though I've read enough about it that I understand the full story of MGS. MGS5 would most likely be a prequel or in-between game between considering the events of MGS4 are kind of... "The End" of the storyboard for Snake's "Story." No I'm not confirming his death by that statement, I'm trying to explain that the story has nowhere to really go for Snake after MGS4's events.Though if MGS5 really is to happen, I would most likely bet on it being another chapter of Big Boss's life as a result of the La Li Lu Le Lo. But the sad part Snake is gone and if there manly swords involved, no guns and, no Solid Snake. Than it's not really the real take of Metal Gear. renovalentine Posted January 30, 2012 Report Share Posted January 30, 2012 i do agree that mgs4 has the best control system and was a brilliant game well all the metal gear games are good apart from mgs 2 which i think was average at best, but i think that mgs 1 is the daddy in my opinion it has the best story the best characters (although many appear in the later games) its just a very immersive and intense experience which few games have been able to top or equal. i probibly will be getting mgs rising and i have heard its going to be a stealth based game but from what i've seen it looks like an action hack N' slash but as long as the story is good i will be happy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Saidon Posted February 4, 2012 Report Share Posted February 4, 2012 Well I have been a hardcore fan of MGS since I was 6 years old when my dad brought home MGS1 for my PS1 while I was playing Crash Bandicoot. I saw, I played, I Loved, I Conquered. I love all of them with MGS2 being my least favourite for obvious reasons. My favourite would have to be MGS4 because it had the best endings and emphasised on a lot of themes. MGS3 & MGS1 story wise is on par with eachother for me but gameplay wise, MGS3 ftw. As you can see in my Sig, its My character in MGS4 Online. I played that after I got Big Boss Emblem on MGS4 and got pretty much addicted to it. Best online game in my opinion. So best story, unique game style, best online? Can't get better than MGS. I dont like the looks of Rising but since I am a fan, of course I am going to play it. MGS5 has been mentioned by Kojima himself if you have been watching his interviews. He has stated that he has ideas for The Boss to be the main character and this storyline will revolve around the Normandy Beach Landings, the Liberation of France, emphasise on the formation of the cobra unit etc. I can already see myself glueing my face to my screen when/if that comes out which is likely because there seems to be demand for it. People that say Rising ruined MGS has not considered the fact that Rising is just a spin off that isnt related to the storyline. It's just to maintain sales from the hardcore fans like me. MGS5 will probably come out by the time University for me finishes, so like 3-4 years. I am also guessing its going to have Online. So if you ever hop on in 3-4 years time remember the Name: Knightmare and Tension because thats going to be my game name xDP.s. I read somewhere or seen in some interview (if memory serves me well) that Konami are considering making another remake of MGS1 for ps3 or the later console. Alkin Posted February 5, 2012 Report Share Posted February 5, 2012 Well for me the MGS series was a blast i enjoyed like no other played MGS1 when i was a kid and the others as they came out but out of all of them MGS4 is my favorite it was a good way to end the series in my opinion and the storyline was quite complex, good and interesting there's no other series quite like it out there.
