I'll be brief. The anime that i've watched and liked are:

Liked a lot

Coyboy beebop

Full Metal Alchemist (i prefer the first attempt than brotherhood)

Hunter x Hunter

Trigun

Darker than black

Code Geass

Liked, but was not amazed

Elfen Lied

Full metal Panic!

Manga read and liked a lot

Death Note

I'm posting what i liked so that hopefully people with similar tastes propose something that will suite mine. I got Gungrave and Samurai Champloo ready to watch, but i'm planning ahead.

If i had to describe my taste, i'd say that i like anime that include super-powers, are not so childish and got a script with good twists. From all 3, i choose the script as the most important.

One anime I really liked was Disgaea, if you still didn't watched it, you should! It's awsome ^^ And it's very small too, only 12 episodes, so it dosen't get boring ^^ Besides, it's an interisting story. There aren't that much superpowers, but laharl can make a purple light that explodes almost anything and Flone can summon a dragon :D

I really dont have a problem with small series, even though I'd rather have something like 40-50 episodes.

About One Piece, I am afraid since it's an ongoing anime with A LOT of episodes. In addition, i'm afraid that it might seem a little less mature than i usually prefer- correct me if i'm wrong. I feel that series with like 200+ episodes that never end, loose the point - you never get closure. Otherwise i'd watch both One Piece and Bleach..

Basilisk and Soul Eater sort of are on my lists, though watching the latter's designs, i feel that they are a bit childish (again, correct me if i'm wrong).

My biggest concern is that i feel like i've seen some very good series and i'm afraid there won't be more like them :P
