lemmingllama
Does our language shape our reality or does our reality shape our language? For background reading, just google realism or anti-realism because I'm busy and too lazy to get it for you
Katongo
Before Cultural adaptation we had Species-wide adaptation which are to say a few enlargement of the brain, upright posture, acute vision... and this allowed us to survive long enough to develop cultural adaptation which is adaptation by manipulating the environment i.e languagethis helped us to work in groups to develop what we see now. So to answer your question reality shaped our language, we first learned our environment what we see(reality) and then used our understanding of this reality to develop a means to manipulate it then shared our understanding. We can't learn how to speak if we don't know what to speak about.
