Dae314
What resolution is your monitor? Game resolution has a huge impact on fps rate. If you're trying to game on 1920x1080 on ultra you may have a problem, but I'm pretty sure that something dinky like 1280x800 would be fine.edit:So HardOCP already got some numbers out so we can use those to estimate what kind of frame rate you can expect out of your 5850. I'm going to be estimating everything assuming your monitor resolution is 1920x1080 so these numbers aren't going to be very accurate. On single player, the HardOCP guys got ~40fps average (min 25fps) with a resolution of 2560x1600 using a 580 and a 6970. That resolution is probably a lot higher than what you're going to be gaming at so we can assume higher numbers for your single player experience. However, you also have a much weaker card than a 580 or 6970. According to Tom's Hardware's Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart October edition, the 580 and 6970 are about 2 or 3 steps up from your card. This means you can probably expect normal playable frame rates probably about equal to the 580/6970 performance at 2560x1600 if you're using your 5850 at 1920x1080.On the multiplayer side of the article, it's a bit easier to estimate. On the bottom of the page, the authors at HardOCP note that they were using a 570 at 1920x1200 for the multiplayer tests. Their frame rates from that setup are ~60 fps. Assuming that the frame rate change from 1920x1200 to 1920x1080 is fairly minimal (maybe only 1-5 more fps), and the fact that your card is again a couple steps removed from the 570 (although they're shorter steps) you can probably expect something like 40-55fps. ZeroPenguins
It will run but don't expect a solid a high FPS. Like Dae314 said it depends on the resolution, at full HD (1920x1080) an nvidia GTX 580 runs battlefield 3 with ultra settings with 4MSAA/16xAF with an average of 42 FPS this is with an i7 920 @ 3.6GHz. An i5 760 might bottleneck if you got an new GPU, well not too sure and you may have to overclock your i5 up a bit. Should be easy.
