kreepindeath69
i was just wondering since i gtx 550 ti could i add a gtx 560 and use them together without any problems. Or do i just have to get another gtx 550? for sli to work?
Diablo
You need two cards for same model to make SLI from NVidia work. Only Crossfire works for 2 dissimilar model cards.I'd suggest you to buy gtx580 if you can afford it. I'll easily outperform a pair of gtx550. Very few games are made to work with SLI or CrossFire. Leviathan87
not many need more power then one
Leica
I don't think SLI works with different cards, It's the other technology from Ati that works that way.
Odeiux
Before you can even think about doing SLI, you have to know if your motherboard is SLI compatible. This can usually be determine by if the board comes with an SLI bridge, or if it says so like on the board itself, or in the booklet that describes the board. If your board does support SLI, you would need another GTX 550. If you get a different card that has a higher or lower spec than your main card, your system might recognize it as a Physx card, which is effective, but doesn't have a good performance boost over SLI.not many need more power then one 550That maybe the case for practical use, but if you plan to game on your system, a single GTX 550 would not be enough to support the latest, even earlier titles of games.
