Proxy11
Can anyone recommend a Anime like Ergo Proxy? I've already watched Wolf's Rain and although it was decent I didn't see the connection. I'm currently watching Darker Than Black which was suggested but 8 episodes in and I'm not feeling it at all. Seen Texhnolyze as well. I know I'm being broad but I hope someone has something to suggest?
Koby
Honestly I didn't care much for Ergo Proxy and I dropped Texhnolyze about half way in. I really loved Wolf's Rain and Darker than Black so it seems our taste are almost opposite thus I probably wouldn't be very good at suggesting something you may like but I'll try anywaysRecommendations:Witch Hunter Robin - Very similar art style, and dark atmosphere. Deep psychological and a tad distopic with action. Also has the same director.Cowboy Bebop - Both are serious, comedic, mysterious, mature, intriguing, and well written. Shinichiro Watanabe did the storyboard for them both.Ghost in the Shell - Both Animes center around a capable female protagonist, who have similar personalities. They both deal heavily with android/cyborg forms of life and both take place in a futuristic cyberpunk setting. Ergo Proxy takes on a more gothic, dystopian atmosphere, however if you enjoyed one of these, you are more than likely to enjoy the other.Monster - Both of them have the same quite glummy and mysterious atmosphere. However nothing ever happens in Monster and honestly it's extremely slow paced and I ended up disliking the show and had to force myself to finish it. Proxy11
Thanks guy's I am also watching Monster at the moment on episode 33 and it's really good. GITS the original movies are awesome and I am thinking about giving Witch Hunter Robin a 2nd chance. I appreciate the help!
kaoru
> SE Lain (not the same kind of action, but same high-end tech)> GITS:Stand alone complex (both seasons)> Outlaw star (similar to bebop)> Gantz (maybe pushing it, but it has some common ground)
