Koby Posted October 1, 2007 Report Share Posted October 1, 2007 Shadow Hearts news is very rare, however unfortunately the last news I heard is about 5 or 6 months old now, and the news was very bad for the Shadow Hearts series. Apparently Aruze Corp. is having financial issues or something, and they fired the division responsible for the Shadow Hearts game after what they called a failure with SH3. So the possibility of a Shadow Hearts 4 at the moment is pretty slim-to-none.The Shadow Hearts series has always been under-rated, and most people I talk to don't even know what it is, but all my friends that I have talked into playing it have really enjoyed it. I just think the word about the series needs to get out more, Aruze or atleast the publisher (Midway for 1 & 2, XSEED for 3) should work on advertising the game more before releasing it. SH3 was alright, but it just left the roots of what made SH actually SH behind and it didn't feel as dark as the other two. I mean SH3 was alot more light and comical, which is what gave many people a reason to complain about it. But with all that aside, I liked the improvements to the battle system and stuff like that. I just wished they'd quit putting those stupid annoying members in your party. In SH everyone was okay, but in SH2 Joachim was just plain annoying, and in SH3 Frank was just really retarded using anything he found as a weapon. Come on, really now how much damage do you think you can do with a cardboard firework with a hilt attacked to it? Haha.Yes though, I have played all three, own all three, and beat all three existing games to the series and I would be so happy if they announced a Shadow Hearts 4 for the PS3. I mean the opening scene the the original was just badass. xD Yuri flying backwards through the train and breaking all the seats when he hit the ground, then punching a whole in Roger Bacons ***spoileralbertsimonsspoiler*** face. A light RPG that was suppose to be sad vs. A dark RPG, full of badass stuff. xD So I like Shadow Hearts, the original, better then any of the Final Fantasy games. I started playing FFX-2 when it came out, and I didn't like it much, so I went back to Shadow Hearts, haha. I think I have beat the first one at least 4 times. The only reason that I haven't finished it off because I lost my memory card and was right at end this was something that happened years ago, probably in the end 2002. The only reason I bought Shadow Hearts was because the name matching Kingdom Hearts.I've just started playing it again and nearly got to the end. Once SH is finished I'll need to get SH 2 and 3 because I really wont to see how he just drops her on the floor and might really enjoy them too, like SH. The biggest thing I liked about SH2 over SH was the judgement ring was a lot easier to use. I don't have the reflexes I used to . I also liked Karin better than Alice. That helped alot. Koby Posted October 1, 2007 Report Share Posted October 1, 2007 My sister says Shadow Hearts: Covenant was the best. But to me I liked the other two more then the second. I don't know there was just some stuff about Covenant I didn't like enough to want to play more then just getting both endings. I did the side quests though and got all the fusions and ultimate weapons. I dislike the ship on Disc 2 when your party separates.. It was a bit hard to figure out at first. =PHas any of you played Koudelka? It's basically a prequel to the first Shadow Hearts, set 12 years before in the time line. It's for the original playstation though, you can get it at Amazon for $17. I'm going to buy it eventually so I can play it. Haha. Some reviews say it's scary and reminds them of Resident Evil 2. hotspot Posted September 8, 2008 Report Share Posted September 8, 2008 Why all the SH3 hate? i love it and think it's the best shadow hearts, i had gotten SH2 about a year ago and didn't really like it but then a few months ago i found SH3 and decided to buy it, i loved it so much that in fact after playing so much of it i decided to try and play SH2 again and found out that it wasn't as bad as i thought it was and now i like it. so if it wasn't for SH3 i would probabally still dislike it. i like that SH3 has a light theme to it.It would be nice if they do make a SH4 i figure that if it is made it will center around johnny again becuase Shadow Hearts 1 & 2 centered around yuri, so i think it would make sense if Shadow hearts 3 & 4 centered around johnny and then if there's a 5 it would center around a new hero and same with 6.
