Very well thought out.The political (read: empty) interactions are everywhere and it certainly paints a fascinating portrait of isolation/segregation/apartheid.The main character really pissed me off though! I would've totally been like:"Three years?! In a huge spaceship!? Traveling across the galaxy!?! To another WORLD!? HELL YES! I'm in!" There were moments were human/alien rights were so grossly forgotten, that it almost seemed on the verge of comedy. I think that was part of the purpose of the whole film really. Edder Posted June 9, 2011 Report Share Posted June 9, 2011 the Wikus character was just a huge blowup of the afrikaner. we just found it funny how they portrayed the character. he is a brilliant actor (if you havnt seen him in A-team, he is murdoc) To me as an afrikaans speaking south african, the movie was basically a movie about racism in our country just with another flavour to it. so far i havnt heard anything about a sequal, but you never know. our film industry is only now starting to pic up some speed. unfortunatly that has been our only massive hit so far. lets hope for the best.
