Dervell
King Kong Skull Island. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series will be based on DeVito ArtWorks' Skull Island and Merian C. Cooper's 1933 film King Kong, with Cooper's estate backing the project. It will be a contemporary continuation of the franchise and will explore the origins of Skull Island. However, it won't be related to the latest King Kong film, Kong: Skull Island. While casting hasn't begun yet, the series will have a female lead with a multicultural ensemble. MarVista Entertainment and IM Global are producing the series. Oscar nominees Jonathan Penner and Stacy Title (The Bye Bye Man) will pen the script and executive produce with Dannie Festa (Trolls). "Jonathan and Stacy have taken a world that has enraptured audiences in all its many forms over the years and given it a contemporary, female-focused spin,” said MarVista CEO Fernando Szew. No release date has been set and the series hasn't been pitched to any networks yet. http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/04/18/king-kong-skull-island-tv-series-in-development
