Dragon Quest XI PS4, 3DS Game Reveals 2017 Debut, Opening & Gameplay Videos

The "Dragon Quest XI SF2017 Special Stage" event at Jump Festa on Saturday revealed more details on Dragon Quest XI: Sugisarishi Toki o Motomete (Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time), the franchise's latest main game for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS. The event also revealed that the game will ship in 2017.

While Square Enix had stated last year that it plans to release the game on the upcoming Nintendo Switch (then known as "NX") console, the new website for the game and the above videos all list the game only for the PS4 and Nintendo 3DS.

 

The game's protagonist is a young hero raised in the tranquil town of Ishi in the game's world of "Lotozetacia." On the day he turned 16 (when one becomes an adult at Ishi), he embarks on an adventure. The opening movie above features the protagonist holding Loto's (Erdrick's) sword.
