Good anime stuff to watch and or read?

If you are into long running anime or manga then go for Gintama.It is one of my most favourites.The options given by the person before me are good but SAO according to my opinion was too hyped and if you go with the hype you are sure to be disappointed.You could also try Fate Stay Night;Unlimited BladeWorks

I personally do think Fate Stay Night; Unlimited BladeWorks would be a better fit since Sword Art Online felt kinda generic and used tropes which made it somewhat predicable. It's still not a bad piece to watch ,but perhaps a more relatively recent anime called Re:Zero would be preferable. It initially goes along the same lines as Sword Art Online in terms of the trope used, yet Re:Zero shows more insight into the main characters that will make you love or hate them. If you want a personal recommendation, aside from these ones, you may want to attempt a slightly older and unfrequented show named Oban Star Racers. It's unique art style may put you off at the beginning, nevertheless it's plot and background art still has stuck with me over the years. Have fun watching!
