Codec Packs vs DIY Configuration for Anime Playback

I've been using the Kawaii Codec pack (KCP for short) for watching anime, but I feel like I'm missing out. Furthermore, KCP hasn't been updated for a while now, but its individual components have. But before I do anything, I wanted to get some feedback. I stumbled upon this guide one day, and ever since then, I feel like I'm not giving my anime playback the proper justice it deserves.

Is KCP sufficient for the best possible playback, or is it time to uninstall?

Not sure if it matters, but I have a pretty decent PC built about two years ago, and my display is 2560 x 1440. When i was installing KCP, i selected the highest setting or second to highest setting.

Thanks for reading.

Yeah thanks for reminding me about this one. I think I might follow the guide I linked in my original post, but if I mess up, I'll go with k-lite. What I like about k-lite is that they have consistent updates, or at least remind you to update.
