SenshiKeizu
Is there some kind of wireless adapter I need to buy? It keeps saying that I need to connect my Ethernet cord.

rankdx
That's unusual it shouldn't do that. Try "Custom" if it keeps giving you the same message then I would say its a Hardware problem. If you barely bought it, exchange it for another, if not use its warranty, send it to sony to be fixed (May take a few weeks) or a local electronic repair store (Faster but will cost). sorry to see this and I couldn't help

I was using Ethernet for awhile but the place I moved into doesn't have any place for me to plug in Ethernet. The custom thing doesn't work either. You sure there isn't a wireless adapter for it? You sure there isn't a wireless adapter for it? 100% sure all PS3 systems are built with wireless adapter. nvm, appearently the very first PS3 system like yours did not come with built in wifi.Sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_3_models & http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-General/do-all-the-playstation-3-s-have-built-in-wi-fi/td-p/39563571 so you might want and go to an electronic store and ask what adapter can work with the ps3 or buy a powerline av adapter which I think its the best choice IMO Edited September 18, 2014 by rankdx
