Newsletter Graphics!

Hi guys, this is going to be a long-standing request, so even if you can't do anything now, the request is always going to be open.

 

You will be credited in the newsletter. :3 These graphics will primarily be featured in the DL version of the newsletter. Knowing what's going to be inside isn't a major factor unless you want to get real fancy with the cover.

 

If possible, especially for folks interested in making header images, we ask you grant us access to working files (PSD, XCF, &c). This is to facilitate any quick changes that may arise (things like text, colour, and placement). If you're not comfortable with that, it's fine to just submit the exported image file.

 

Overall requirements, regardless of graphic type:

Appropriate for ages 13+

Nothing plagiarised or stolen

 

You can sign your work, but please make it unobtrusive.

 

And please try to have sources for any art you use. This is a non-profit publication, but we don't want to step on any toes. Your graphics won't be rejected for not having sources, it'd just be nice to have. (Photobucket and zerochan are not proper sources.)

Covers

 

These will go, predictably, at the front of the newsletter! You'll get a whole page to work with, but it may be scaled down. The size we'll be working with is Letter (8.5 in x 11 in), with an aspect ratio of 1.2941.

 

Requirements: 

Fits on Letter size paper (vertically)

Has the words "Kametsu Informer" on it

Splash Pages

 

Similar to a cover page, but it'll be featured inside the newsletter. May be scaled down, and should be at the same aspect ratio (1.2941) as the cover.

 

Requirements: 

Fits on Letter size paper (vertically--can be spread across two pages)

Headers

 

These will top off the different sections.

Nothing super fancy--must be clearly legible

Small images and plain backgrounds okay

Filler Graphics

 

These are going to be small graphics for placement in the margins and at the end of articles. They'll likely be resized, so try not to get too fancy with these.

ETA: There is one more thing, actually.

 

We're currently looking for a Publisher template to be used for the newsletter. All it needs is a blank first page at the start and everything else can be set up the way the other templates are--a front page for announcements and the like, the content pages within, and a back page. You can do with it as you like, as long as it's usable!

 

As with the graphics, please submit something that is your own work!

 

[i ask for Publisher because that is the software I have. If you'd rather use InDesign or something else, let me know and I'll see what I can do.]
