RikuoAmero
Hey guys,I'm thinking of doing something like Video Games Awesome. If you don't know who they are, check out a random video here./>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zk9SQ2VByYI&list=SPGxCL8JAojANpgX6NSxlEZpAXDXC-5vK1&index=1&feature=plpp_videoWhat I plan to do is record gameplay footage on the top three quarters of the screen and have the IRC along the bottom. I know how to capture footage, I can use either Camtasia or use Livestream.com's own software.First, I'd like to know how to run the IRC chat on the same stream as the gameplay, like in VGA in the video link above.Second, I may not be able to do this live. I currently have an upload speed of only 56 kbps, far too slow. What I'll have to do is talk to my ISP and switch plans. The best they do for home is one with 768 kbps (I've looked at the Livestream website and they say 5 Mbps = 625 kbps minimum is required for HD). I don't know yet if I want to do HD, as I feel like doing old games, at least at first. (I have looked at their business plans as well, and seen one that does 1 Mb. I've e-mailed them to ask whether they actually mean 1 MB, which is 1,024 kilobytes, which would be fantastic).Third, which streaming service is best? Which would you recommend?Fourth - hardware wise, am I already covered (read my signature)? I should be, as far as I know. About the only thing I might need to buy is an extra hard drive/solid state drive (ones I have are already getting full). I'd need a recommendation there as well, either USB 3.0 or eSATA (my motherboard has eSATA 3Gb/s data and power port on the back I/O), to record footage. DeathTheKid
1st question: I'm pretty sure it's a green screen and their using some software to do it.2nd question: In order to do a good stream with HD you need an amazing upload speed otherwise you'll cut out and lag really bad.3rd question: http://www.twitch.tv/ is good for streaming video games.4th: Can't help you there. I don't know much about computer hardware. Are you gonna stream pc or console games? Edited November 5, 2012 by DeathTheKid

And it'll be PC and console games, including emulated ones if I can. I recently bought a few Tomb Raider games cheap on Steam and I thought to myself "might as well get the first TR games and stream/record them"
