The Index and Tags

First, about the tags. I'll be going through the tags again to make sure everything lines up because I work at varying levels of consciousness and motivation. Not all of the Challenge threads are marked with what type they are, and I really ought to go through the fan fiction and see what belongs in Otaku Releases (which I haven't touched at all), as well as marking the fandom they belong to.

Everything pertaining to the [story], [Art], [Poem], and [Humour] tags should be tagged--which means at the end of a tagged thread, there should be recommendations for other items similarly tagged.

For an example, I pulled the latest thread posted here.

I don't really know how the tag recommendations work--they don't seem to refresh and it seems like no matter what thread you go to, the recommendations are always the same. However, searching the tags themselves should pull up everything with that tag--seen here with [story].

Now, about the Index. Since the shift in forum software, all of the links are broken and the thread IDs are incorrect, nixing any simple fixes. I can start working on rebuilding it, but I have a few questions.

1. How important is the index to you? Did you use it while it was still functional?

2. Is anyone willing to help me rebuild it? The part of the Index where things are sorted by type is now largely obsolete due to the tags, so that just leaves the straight up alphabetical listing.

I'll rebuild the Index if there's any interest at all in seeing it return, regardless of whether anyone helps me--it'll just be done fairly slowly because my brain starts to freeze when doing mindnumbing work on the computer. However, if people express no interest, I'll retire the index and pretty up the tags list. Even if someone later decides they want the Index, it'll be easy to pull it back up since it won't be deleted--just waiting in the Farplane.
