Router Wi-Fi Problems

So I've had this ANNOYING problem since I got my router, nothing can EVER find it and manually putting in the info never works either. Atm we are trying to get my brother's laptop to connect to it and my Wii has never worked with it either, I had to order a internet cord for my Wii coming in the mail still. I have no idea how we even got my mother's laptop connected to this thing and I had to install a program to get it working on my machine when I had to use wireless.

My router is a Cisco Linksys E2000. I have it password protected.

I don't have a solution for you, but it seems to have something to do with the frequency that this router operates on.

So if you can somehow change the frequency from 5.0GHz to 2.4GHz, it would probably solve your problems. Here is more information:

I don't have a solution for you, but it seems to have something to do with the frequency that this router operates on.

Would anything bad happen if i changed it to 2.4GHz? I don't really know what that means to change it, would things that use 5.0GHz not work anymore? or do things even use that. My main concern is computers, will that mess something up with a computer connecting to it? I know where that option is to change that I just never touched it cause I don't know what it is.

Just tried that and it works like a charm, Now that internet cord thing coming in the mail is a little less useful but being wired is always better then being wireless. I can now find my router in the list. Hopefully works for computer to.

I probably just didn't search the right things cause I found nothing about that lol
