Asch
http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/26/nokia-announces-the-lumia-800/Nokia announced there Lumia series with Windows Phone OS in the recent Nokia world conference, and ruling out any future Symbian update after Belle, also stating that they will stop developing Meego further(for grace only, they will update their only Meego device N9). As far as I know, Symbian was the first OS which could be considered as a mass produces 'smartphone' OS, and the only option like four year ago. But after the Android wave+iOS wave, Nokia suffered losses, decided to partner up with Windows(remember how IBM+Windows OS2 ruined IBM) and choose Windows Phone as their primary OS. Many people were hoping that there will be a Windows+Symbian combination, but no hope remains now, also the Meego OS (I own N9, and it is 100% more awesome than Android or IPhone in terms of core OS) will be discontinued and only Intel will maintain it.I doubt that there are many Symbian users on Kametsu, still what do you think about it ?Is it fine for Nokia to just throw Symbian away, or they should have done a major overhaul to it ?As of me, I absolutely hate how Nokia just left Meego and Symbian for a 3rd party OS, specially a OS which is restrictive, its fine Symbian was not getting the response they wanted, but it was their fault, they never looked after it and thought that Nokia loyalist will buy their cell anyways.
