I've played both of the DS ones. I liked the one with the crazy crab-thing boss in a tower. Don't know whether that helps anyone though lol. I think there were people turned to stone. You played as a guy. Again I don't know if this helps. You can probably tell I'm not a massive fan lol.

Order of ecclesia that was one of the hardest metroidvania ones but mine would have to be Aria of Sorrow

My favorite Castlevania like many is Symphony of the Night just everything about that game went well together and also had some good music. But to me Castlevania Bloodlines on the sega genesis had the best music of any and also being probably the hardest game I've ever played.

My favorite Castlevania game to play has to be Castlevania II. I really like the music as well. Super Castlevania IV is a very close second for both gameplay and music. I just really like the quest aspect behind Castlevania II instead of the normal level-by-level design of a lot of the other Castlevania games.

I've got to say that my favorite Castlevania games were Aria of Sorrow and Order of Ecclesia.

Aria had a nice pokémonesque soul collecting system and Ecclesia adopted a level based structure and was a real challenge.

I think Ecclesia had good music, but also Portrait of Ruin is another contender in that regard.

I wonder if we've seen the end of the great 2D Castlevanias.
