Using two different graphics adaptors

Hey people, my friend has a computer running Windows XP. I'm winging his way my TV/DVD combi, which can accept HDMI input and give a 1080i picture. I just want to confirm nothing weird will happen with this setup.

He's using his computer to run Autodesk 3ds Max 2012 and a couple of other animation programs. He's using a standard PC monitor, output being a DVI-D cable to a DVI-VGA adaptor to the VGA input in the screen. However, he's using a relatively weak graphics card, a Geforce 9400 GT. I suggested that when I give him my TV, he connect his PC monitor to the onboard VGA output coming from the motherboard, and use a DVI-D to HDMI adaptor to connect from the Geforce's DVI output to the TV's HDMI input.

I just want to make sure nothing would go wrong with this setup. Myself, I've run two monitors before, but they were both coming from my Radeon's HDMI and DVI outputs. Would my friend not encounter any problems running through two different graphics adaptors? He plans on extending his desktop, having his main workspace from 3ds Max on the main monitor and his tools on the TV.
