seaweeds
what video editing software is best to use to remove commercials, filter the video, and encode it.I want to encode it to mp4 for play on psp or ipod .i wouldn't mind to encode to mkv as well. Can anyone detail me on a good editing software for TV recordings. I have recorded various anime on my DVR recorder, they come only in trp(transport stream) format when copied to memory stick/hardrive and comes with two information files. azdave
those .ts files are fine..there is a program called DVBcut that i used to use when i was encoding tv caps..its real easy and makes a .mpg file out of your file after you cut out commercials then you can encode your cut .mpg to .mp4..this program only cuts then creates new file..it doesnt filter or encode it..you can use whatever program you want to encode it but to filter it you need to use a program that uses avisynth scripts like megui or virtualdub
chojen
I've re-mastered many TS streams (mainly editing BluRay streams) and I try to keep it simple. I use (TSMuxer GUI) for my "prep work" because I can add/delete audio and video tracks and use the cut/split feature to remove unwanted sections of a TS file. Then I use the join feature in TSMuxer-GUI to bring all my segments back together. With my final TS/mrts file in hand I jump over to "RIPBot264" which is a very simple to use converter fox x264/AVCx streams which allows you to go straight to .mkv or .mp4FormatFactory will also take your concatenated TS stream and convert it to almost any format you want. FormatFactory is something good for beginners and handles bulk-conversions pretty well (it's just a little to basic for my use but I use if I want to do a batch conversion for my mobile device). Both RIPBot264 and Format-Factory are front-ends to AviSynth (something azdave referenced before). Me and MEGui have never gotten along so I do everything (BluRay, DVD) with (Muxers/Authoring: TSMuxer, MKVMerge and Converters: Handbrake and RIPBot264).If you want a "step my step" guide to ALL THINGS related to video conversion to to (vcdhelp.com). Hands down, the best resource on the net.You can put in your source and destination file types (in the conversion section) and it will take you to the guide for the conversion (and links to any required tools).
