Most underrated/inspiring/moving supporting characters

Hi,

of course we all know our anime main protagonists, their heroic actions, their inspiring speeches. But the supporting characters also have their moments. What I'd like to do is gather a list of the "forgotten" or neglected.

I'll start then:

Milly Thompson / Trigun.

There is an episode, in which some goons want to take over the land and farm of an elderly couple, the son of the couple being among the goons. Anyway, when the bad guys are about to close in, Milly Thompson jumps in front of them, crying and scared to death. She is asked to step aside, but - even though she is terrified - stays in place, saying "Never be too afraid to do the right thing."...at least that's how it is in my memory :-D
