Kapika
It really depends on what series, but most of the time i prefer anime. The main time I prefer the manga is when the anime RANDOMLY ENTERS A FILLER ARC MID-STORY-ARC. (Bleach)
sparx615
I prefer manga; I just have more patience for reading than watching, and I'm picky about my anime- I hate subs, but dubs are sometimes harder to find. Also, the books are always better than the movies. xP
samitsmeht
its a tough Q to ans, some hav gr8 awesome manga rest r gr8 in animelik one piece has epic manga but bleach anime is better
Koudelka
I tend to buy the manga for those series i really enjoy as well as the anime - both to support the creative minds that feed my habit as well as being able to continue stories of characters/series i like beyond what is/ever will be animated (and some anime deviate significantly from the manga storyline - not always a bad thing - just different)
lilyheartsyou
Manga b/c when it's put in to anime they leave out a lot of thingslike a book you really like made into a movie and the movie leaves out a bunch of stuff and usually adds crap
your mom
Either can be better than the other. It really depends on how the story is executed. There is a larger variety of manga and the censorship is pretty lax comparatively, but being animated is a huge bonus, too.
Iliasmiles
Anime is super fun to watch, but just like any movie translated from a book it skips out on some cool parts
CardCaptorAngel
for the majority of manga that i have read i've watched the anime first. But i'm having a manga phase atm and am reading manga that doesn't have an anime.I'm also reading Black Cat and Hitman Reborn before watching the anime though. In general I prefer manga because they have better stories or more exciting elements- soul eater is a great example. It's nice to know what story the original artist wanted to tell.
glaeken
Personally I prefer anime though I know that reading the manga is way better than relying on the anime alone. But I just don't have the time to read the manga at all between a full time job and school ... watching my anime series alone is already a tight squeeze. Jikochuu
In my case, I prefer to read manga. I feel more "in" the story... maybe because I can "touch" the drawing ?I also prefer it because it is the original version. Most of the time, animes are incomplet because they summarize a lots of volumes in a few episodes...With manga we also have a "contact" with the mangaka (^ ^)
Mannan
I like anime more because reading manga becomes dull after a while. No offense to the manga readers intended. its just personal openion

Lenalee33
I said Manga, but I like them both about the same. Reason for picking Manga: I've read a lot of manga before watching the anime and half the time they end up adding a lot of filler to the anime. Avith
I choose anime. I don't read manga at all. I like to read occasionally, but not manga. I'm not into reading novels either, as reading stories don't excite or intrigue me at all. I read up on philosophy, warfare tactics, and martial arts.If there's a series I really like I think it's more benefical to watch anime because you get voices, music, movement, not have to turn the page, and reading to much is bad for the eyes compared to a TV screen which isn't as bad (or so I've heard). My eyesight is about the only sense of the main 5 that isn't dying, so I try to keep my reading time to a minimum. lol

†Talena Mae
I prefer Manga as you get more of the story when your are reading it. But Having said that I like watching Anime to see what that have changed ^.^
Avith
@ragnawindSo you mean it isn't ture? I stated the opposite.I heard that reading is worse for eyesight than television. Alas, I'm not sure myself. Thank you for the second opinion! Maybe I'll actually do the research on that.
Kobe
I have to go with anime, you get to really see and get into the action as well as a stronger connection to whats going on and the characters. Most people don't have the patience to read manga and that's why I think anime is more essential becuase people will have a better feel for the story. Avith
@ KobeWell put. I couldn't have said it better myself. It's all about that epic feeling in anime. I don't think manga can replicate that, at least not for me.
Lampen
Depends on the genre. Just can't beat Sci-Fi in Anime and personally comedy in Manga is much better.
