Nicknamed "Sugimoto the Immortal" during the war, he now seeks the riches promised by the gold rush in hopes of saving the widowed wife of his now deceased comrade from the war. During his hunt of gold, he finds hints of a hidden stash of gold by corrupt criminals. Partnering with an Ainu girl that saves his life from the harsh climates of the north, they venture into a survival adventure to race against the criminals that seek the hidden stash. Shit if the WHOLE anime looked like that, I wouldn't mind... but having only a few animals stand out like that amongst what mostly seems like under-detailed 2D art, just really becomes an eyesore and ends up looking like some half-assed amateur decided to dabble with Photoshop. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Aside from the CG bear shown above, there hasn't been anything funky with the art/animation imo. In terms of the show itself, it's probably the best "new" series airing this season. Hayato 138 Report post Posted June 7, 2018 Seems to focus a lot of food. Every episode has a sitdown to discuss whatever the characters are eating. They even show them hunting and killing their food before they cook it on an open fire. Where do they keep coming up with ingredients for the sauce though that the Ainu girl keeps calling "poop"?
